Aphalt 9 have more realistic graphics than asphalt 8. The game will be laggy in mid rang devices

Physics:

Both the game have almost same physics but asphalt 9 have more realistic route. Your speed lower when taking turn or while driving through terrain or pavement . In asphalt 8 you have to drift from a cliff to perform flat spin but in asphalt you can perform flat spin anywhere by pressing brakes twice.

Nitro use:

In asphalt 8 nitro shuts in the air but in asphalt 9 it can be used in the air as well. Asphalt 8 have four nitro stages. Stage 1 blue, stage 2 yellow, stage 3 purple and perfect nitro. Asphalt 9 have four distinct stages. Stage one yellow, stage 2 red, perfect nitro, and nitro shockwave.

Multiplayer:

There is a voting system in asphalt 8 for multiplayer race in which you vote for route, laps and race mode but in asphalt 9 there is no such system.

Controls:

Gameloft has introduced touch drive in asphalt 9. The car drives itself all you have to do is select the route, active nitro or brake. 

BOTTOM LINE:

There are more minor difference in both games like seasons cars and other difference but both games have their own fun i would suggest to try both games.
